The cycle of life and death

Nature often has a way of surprising us. Sometimes we spend hours planning a photograph to capture something interesting, and other times there is no need for that at all. 

This photograph was taken during a short stop to stretch my legs and admire a beautiful waterfall. As it turned out, however, the waterfall was not the most interesting element of the scene, but rather a large raven walking along the edge of the road with an unfortunate prey in its beak. Well…
